About
Sean J Carlin, AIA
Licensed Architect — PA & SC
Sean is a versatile architect with a broad portfolio spanning residential, commercial, and mixed-use typologies. A graduate of Drexel University’s distinctive architecture program in Philadelphia, he earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree while gaining full-time professional experience—an immersive model that laid the foundation for his hands-on, detail-oriented approach to design.
Sean began his career in Philadelphia, contributing to a wide range of projects including large-scale mixed-use developments, educational facilities, and residential work, like infill row-homes and expansive custom homes along the Main Line. Since relocating to the Charleston area, he has expanded his experience into commercial office and retail design, while finding his greatest passion and strength in high-end custom residential architecture.
Over the years, Sean has worked with several respected firms, including Herlong Architects, Beau Clowney Architects and John Totes Architecture and Design, where he honed his eye for craftsmanship, proportion, and contextually driven design.
He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and holds licensure in both Pennsylvania and South Carolina.
